Middle School Youth Group
St. Mark's Middle School Youth Group (grades 6-8) will meet, typically, on Fridays from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM in the Youth Room. See the church bulletin to confirm the meeting days and times. Primarily, youth group meetings are a relaxed, social time to meet other Catholic youth from the area. You are welcome to bring a friend (Catholic or not) if you wish. Youth group is a fun and safe place to hang out with music, free time, snacks, volleyball, movies, pool, foosball, and much more. We will take a brief time at youth group to recognize God for all that He has given us and to share in prayer. We would like to arrange a couple of activities and service projects beyond our regular meeting time during the year.
All youth who participate in St. Mark's youth group programs must be registered and have their medical information and liability waiver on file for the year. This includes friends who join us in our activities. You may download the 2007-2008 Youth Group Registration Form (PDF, 44 KB) and bring the completed form to the youth meeting if you wish. It is important to note that the youth group meetings are not a replacement for a religious education program which may be received in the home, at an area Catholic school, or through an area Catholic church.
Parents are needed to help supervise the youth both inside and outside, prepare the snacks and to help run some of the activities. Parents are always needed to help drive the youth to and from all of our activities. All parents who help with the youth group must complete the Safe Environment Training program.

The National Evangelization Team (NET) is hosting a middle school retreat with the theme “Why Faith?” This retreat addresses four common reasons young people don’t seem interested in their Catholic faith and challenges young people to reconsider their perspective. They are exhorted to live their Catholic faith to the fullest! There will be a prayer service but not a Sunday liturgy, therefore those participating must attend Mass earlier. The retreat is March 2, 2008 from 2-6PM at Epiphany Parish in Oklahoma City. Cost is $10. Scholarships are available for St. Mark parishioners. Registration deadline is Feb. 22, and forms can be picked up in the youth office. Call Darlene with any questions.

Welcome all youth grades 6-8 to Middle School Youth Group. Feel free to bring a friend to join in the fun. Be sure to have their parents complete the registration form for youth group and have them bring it to the meeting.
The Christmas lock-in was a hit! We had over 60 youth who attended. Our next youth meeting is in January.
